I am Desert.  You think me dead and lifeless.  You think I have no soul.

          I am Desert.  I am alive and I am full of life.  Life may be harsh within my borders, but for that very reason it is especially beautiful.

          I am Desert.  I teach self-sufficiency and surrender.  I teach the camel to carry its own water and the sidewinder to move with the flow of sand.  I teach camouflage and the beauty of cool nights.

          I am Desert.  Approach me with respect and I will teach you truth.  Approach me with arrogance and I will show you a fool.

          I am Desert.  I am harsh and unforgiving.  But I am also beautiful and loving to those who can see.
