I am Rat.  I am the first.

          I am Rat.  It is my success you hate the most.  My ability to survive.  I have not bowed to your desires, and vanished from the Earth.

          I am Rat.  Perhaps that is the reason you use me in your "science."  The Inquisition could have learned a thing or two from you.

          I am Rat.  My laboratory cousins are stuck inside your world.  They are subject to your cruelty.  They no longer know their worth.

          But I am Rat and I am free.  My intellect will help me adapt to everything you throw into my path.

          I am Rat.  (By the way, sorry about that plague thing a couple years ago.  But these things will happen when you burn all the cats.)
